What is Mindfulness ?

 

 

 

Mindfulness is a principal stemming out of Buddhist practices that help the mind relax and reflect which helps an individual gain greater awareness and understanding of themselves and the world. Mindfulness helps an individual see the true understanding of a situation, problem, or event by changing the perspective an individual views it from. Many people find they gain empathy and compassion for others around them through the regular practice of mindfulness as well as many other physical benefits.


some of the physical benefits of mindfulness are 


1. stress management- people who practice mindfulness tend to have a higher threshold for stress and stressful situations. people who gain ability to stop negative thoughts through mindfulness help individuals to reduce the feeling of stress in their body 


2. higher self esteem- people who practice mindfulness tend to have a feeling of higher greatness and a full belief that they can accomplish anything they want on their own and see solutions rather than problems in their life. 


3. greater energy and enthusiasm- people who have a practice of relaxation and quieting the mind tend to find themselves more energetic throughout the day and a love for learning and new activities. This has been linked to the ability to find peace in any situation as well as the belief in their own abilities.


4. improved sleep and health- one of the main causes for lack of sleep is restlessness, which is the opposite of mindfulness. the inability to stop thinking can cause people to have trouble sleeping and staying asleep throughout the night. The practice of controlling your thoughts and feelings will allow for a more controlled dreaming pattern and allow a person to fall asleep more easily. 



Now, you may be asking how you can practice mindfulness. Well the first step is learning to control thoughts. Many find meditation as a great way to find control of there thoughts. yet, so many of us need ways to control thoughts during daily activities as well. I find focusing on my breathing for a few minutes at a time a good way to push out the thoughts for a few moments in time. Prayer is also a great form of mindfulness (as long as you can let go afterwards) and music therapy is a great way to change your mood suddenly and start to create positive rather than negative thoughts.

Are you Right or Left Brained?

 

 

People can often be categorized as right or left brain thinkers. typically one hemisphere will dominate the other a lot like twin babies in a mothers womb there is one dominant twin we all have one dominant hemisphere. It is important to consider which of your hemispheres is in control. this argument is a deep one and we see in many different conversations throughout our life. for example, woman in the past used to be considered right brained creative and emotional people. where as men who are often fighters, needing concrete proof of things and want to act quickly rather than thinking is often a left brained trait. in today’s world it is almost unheard of that someone is right brained and being a male right brained individual is even more unthinkable.

 

First of all, lets explore the left brain and the type of people who are predominately controlled by this hemisphere. the left brain as you can see above are number people who can find themselves always needing more proof of what is they have happening to them. these people are your typical non believers. They often will accept what the normal way of thinking is at the time and or go with the flow and not make change unless objective proof is presented that they can hit or reach a high self serving purpose. They are controlled by the self or the ego and very rarely want better things for anyone who is not close to them or will help them in some way. Now, Left brained people do have great ability to research and search for truth. they are rarely hurt and can walk away easily from situations they do not see beneficial or do not believe in. They also need control and can usually find it in themselves.


Next, we can look at the right brained creative and subjective type of thinking. today these people would be the emotional and loving people. These are people who are looked at as being ruled by their emotions. A good sign of being right brained is someone telling you that you are too emotional or use your heart and not your head. Having a strong sense of self belief and hurt for the world. Having the ability to create and develop ideas easily are all traits of the right brain. Yet these people tend to become depressed and hurt more easily than a left brained person. Moving on and letting go is typically the hardest struggle of the right brained people and a need to explain the hurt. 


So which brain is a better dominating half. In my opinion and this is my blog so I am going to give it ! Is a right brained person tend to do the moral and right things far more often. they are less self serving and often give far more. they are the emotions of the world and although in our modern mess of the world we value logical thinkers we often discredit love and value for other people and our feelings. I believe if we put love and creativity back in to our world and take out the ego then we may actually have some hope of a future.

Gregg Braden – The Divine Matrix

The entire world is created by what we believe to be true. This is something we either control or let go control of. This is true of every person on earth. Yet, so many of us let others and there story dictate what we believe about ourselves and others. Imagine a world were nothing bad ever happens again because our belief about who we are is so strong that we realize anything happening will bring us greater good. Miracles of belief happen every day and yet as humans we neglect to create our own miracles. For example, cancer becomes healed simply by a touch of another human being with a strong belief. Looking back at my entire world I can see how i created the situations I am currently going through based on my beliefs. Now, if i want a change I am capable of changing things once again. I will change my world drastically and prove the power of belief and love are all we need in life.

Bravery or Optimistic Denial

 

 

Fear comes in a lot of different forms and according to Tim Ferris most people look at this as optimistic denial. Think to yourself do you really think your situation can improve or are you simply in optimistic denial. Optimistic denial is one step below fear. People who continually pretend things will get better but are never brave enough to try are actually more fearful than the people who can go out of their way to actually picture failure. Now, what you really need is to take the step from Fear up to simply just moving towards what you want without any fear. That is true bravery and making a jump towards actions will only bring greater joy.

 

Now, Figure out which stage you are in and if you are ready to jump towards your goals great! yet, most people are fearful and need to recognize what they fear and just do it because that fear is typically the thing we actually need to do the most! Go face your fear and each and every day continue to fear and move in the right direction. Lastly if you are not even ready to recognize what you are scared of its time to write down those worries and fear. Write down why you are scared make this your worst case scenario. Then, put yourself in those shoes. Get yourself in to the fear stage so you can begin to face them and ready yourself for the jump towards the goal!

What is Compassion and how to live it ?

 

 

Compassion is in my opinion is a rare trait amongst people today? The greatest and most wonderful people in the world understand and practice compassion. Compassion is described as the ability to feel what others around you are going through and truly understand. Now, there are people who feel the pain of others and go out of there way to change things or help. Yet, so many people feel self absorbed in ego and never move to help anyone or they will only help when personally convenient or if it will help them get ahead. 


Think of yourself today and try to put yourself into everyone and everything’s shoes. How do they feel and how would that effect you. How can you change things or help these people. when is the last time you did something without hope of reward and simply because it was the right things to do? This is your compassion!

 

Here are a few other ideas of how to try and live compassion below- 


1. listen to the needs of others- try to understand them even if you do not agree with how they feel. 

2. Find commonalities between yourself and other people- we are all the same thing made up of nothing different and regardless of what choices we have made we all have common interests, needs, and so much more. start to look at others as an extension of yourself. Do to others what you would have done on to yourself!

3. Help those you can and provide hope and love- simple intercede in the way you should and show that all people are valuable. appreciate what you have and who they are because there is no difference. 

4. Let go of hurt- we can not hold all feelings in. Be present then and move forward to create, love, and help again… that is compassion

Consistancy they Key to your Desires

 

No matter which successful person you speak to they will bring up the fact that they had to work hard for their reward. There success was something they had to believe in with all there heart. No matter who you are there are going to be road blocks and people who will tell you your dreams are not realistic and if they were then everyone would be successful. Guess what , There Not! The one thing everyone successful has in common is the consistency of their actions. They do the same work day in and day out placing new ideas in to the pot and stirring until the stew is finished and delicious. Consistency comes from patience, belief, and forward movement each day. If you have a goal you are working towards I suggest you write out your goal and each day take at least one action each day to accomplish this goal. Do it no matter what and be consistent because all successful people work towards their goals each and every day and never stray from their path.

How to be Solution Oriented

 

 

Most of us focus on the problem rather than the switching our focus to become solution oriented and focusing on the positive outcome of what we want. Life becomes awfully simple when you believe in what will happen rather than the problem itself. Sometimes this shift in focus can be extremely difficult if the problem itself is something we really want to change in life. We simply need to have faith and not resist what the answer is that the universe brought. There have been times in my life where I could never imagine how things could work out the way I wanted and even after resisting Magic came upon letting go and I always received, and attracted more than I had previously.when being solution oriented we have to follow the answer our heart is giving us to the prayers we have asked. This is a trust that the best is yet to come and that we do have the solution. often people will say they knew what must happen the entire time and yet they did not take the first step out of fear even though it was the solution they needed all along. In order to be solution oriented we need these 3 steps 


1. ability to focus on the solution and ask for what we want

2. trust- do not be fearful even if the answer seems counter intuitive

3. take the first step in blind faith and focus on only the outcome

Do you Believe in Coincidence?

 

 

 

 

 

It can be hard to let go of our past experiences especially when we do not seem to understand why something is or did happen to us. Something I have come to know throughout time is life has no coincidence. Sometimes things I do not want happen and yet it will lead to a bigger or better opportunity, strengthen or teach me something I needed. If you can learn to recognize signs that are happening in the present and gain the faith and trust you need to move forward yo will never look back or need understanding again. I want to share a story of so called coincidence and hope. 

 

About a year ago a friend of mine we will call her Sara. Sara had developed a great spiritual belief and has had so many troubles in her relationships. Men would just love her but never commit. after around a year they would break up and she would always be heartbroken. There was one man in 2008 that was the catalyst for her spirituality and faith but also, caused my friend unimaginable pain. She loved him More than anything I have witnessed in this world. Well a year ago Sara had the same situation happen once more with different love. However, at the same moment all of these things were occurring can you guess who she became friends with the 2008 guy… Coincidence or a source of help, remembrance, and understanding… Well, that is your call…. I want to tell you how this story ends and I can tell you it is extremely positive and she is happier than ever… Keep in mind even the people we bring in to our lives have purpose and with faith and understanding of why we lose people and things is always to gain more later on…


Personally, I do not believe in coincidence I think everything we pray and ask for sometimes needs a new perspective or outcome to come about and that means a huge change in our lives. this is especially true when others are involved. So have faith look at your coincidences because you need and attracted them. Trust and always look to the present and what you want in the future. Never think upon the past because the past is what you needed even if it doesn’t seem that way
